About Us
Thank you for taking the time to see what Two Side Guide is all about!
I’ve been using SolidWorks for over 20 years at six different companies with over 100 different co-workers. Occasionally, I’ll come across a co-worker that doesn’t know a basic command or fundamental and wonder how have they managed to use SolidWorks for so long without learning it. I’ve come to realize that “you don’t know what you don’t know.”
If you’re self-taught or didn’t have a good SolidWorks instructor, you might not have learned these basics. Maybe you haven’t taken a SolidWorks course in a while. Some of these features might not have existed when you took the course, or you didn’t think they were important and just forgot about them. Perhaps you’ve worked at only one company or have had limited interaction with other users. These guides were made for users like you.
Our guides are purposely limited to two pages to focus on the most important basics. I want to make sure everyone knows them and that nobody gets left behind.
I’m a huge proponent of continuous improvement and continuous learning. I truly believe I can learn something from anyone. If I’m wrong or if there’s a better way to do something, please let me know. I don’t have a big ego, and I won’t be offended. I’m here to learn, too.
I made all of the guides and the website myself without hiring any professional graphic designers or editors. They don’t have to look nice. I just need to get the information out there. Plus, saving that money can go towards maintaining the website for as long as possible and towards donating physical printed guides to students.
I’m not trying to get rich or retire off these guides. I just want to spread this knowledge and help as many users as I can (especially new users). Consider this my way of giving back to the SolidWorks community that I’ve been a part of for over 20 years.
